Star Spangled Spectacular attracts more than 30,000 spectators to Faurot Park on July 4th each year to celebrate our nation’s independence. The event begins when more than 500 runners take off in the area’s largest run/walk – the Freedom 5K – and then continues with an evening of entertainment. The event culminates with the area’s largest display of fireworks at dusk over the patriotic sounds of the Lima Area Concert Band.

SSS is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization and you can enjoy the fireworks on the 4th provided free-of-charge. Star Spangled Spectacular would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Each January, the Steering Committee begins raising dollars from within the community to provide the same “spectacular” event as the previous year.
